Addictions & Habits

I take a holistic approach to addictions and treat the person not the addiction. I believe the problem lies within the person, not the substance. Alcohol abuse is the symptom, not the disease. I have worked with alcohol and cocaine habits as well as smoking nicotine and cannabis.

In the first instance I will focus on harm reduction and then strengthen the individual psychologically. An unhelpful belief system is often supporting an addiction. RECBH (CBT with hypnosis) is highly effective at empowering a person to take control of their addiction.

Gambling is another very destructive habit that I have experience with and is treated in a very similar way to substance and alcohol abuse. Hypnotherapy is an excellent treatment for habits like nail-biting, teeth-grinding and eating chocolate.
